fun fun fun and scary scary scary...

We went to the pumpkin patch yesterday with our friend's Jen, Tim, and Kate. We ate lunch first- with some yummy pie- and then headed over to the pumpkin patch. We went on a hayride to the pumpkin patch, and then went walking through to find our perfect pumpkin. Eric loved it, he just giggled and giggled as he looked at all the pumpkins. I'm not sure what was so funny, but he sure enjoyed it! We found our pumpking, and then let him check out a few more. He loved standing on the ground with the pumpkins, almost as big as he is! Him and Kate had a great time! After picking our pumpkins, we took the hayride back. Eric loved the tractors, everytime he saw one drive past us, he pointed and got all excited! John of course loved that!!!:) Anyway, we went back and went to pet the goats. Eric thought it was really funny, John not so much- he hates goats! It was fun to see Eric pet them though! We then went and got our pumpkin, bought some yummy apple butter and cherry perserves, and we were off home! It was a great day- fun, fun, fun!

We were driving home, a little over an hour drive home, when the most scary thing happened! We were passing a semi- when we heard a loud crash- we looked back and the window right next to Eric just exploded right in on top of him! The look of terror was on his little face as he screamed and cried, so I leaned back and shielded his face from the window. I don't know if the semi kicked up a rock or what, but we passed the truck, and pulled over onto the side of the road. I hurried up and got out of the car and grabbed him, he was so scared- but as I cleaned him off and calmed him down- thank God he was not harmed in any way! We were all shaken up, and we still had about 40 mintues to go! John is very good in these situations, I tend to get a little emotional! (Although I think I would have been calmer if I were by myself and had to do it- but I figure he is the husband and the father- he can take care of us!!!:)) Anyway, John moved the car seat to the other side and we put up the 'buggy bag' in the window. I sat in the back with Eric and we just blasted the heat. Like I said before, thank God he wasn't hurt!!! SCARY, SCARY, SCARY!!!
